Voters Meeting
VOTERS MEETING-Mon., May 12 at 7:00 PM. Agenda items presently include: allocation of capital campaign funds, election of Green Park delegate, update on enrollment at Green Park, ’08-’09 budget approval, architectural presentation on proposed steeple project. Anyone interested in preparing for this meeting with prayer for our congregation, gather in the Parlor at 6:30, prior to the meeting.


Men's Club BBQ
Christ Memorial’s Men’s Club will hold its 2nd B-B-Q on May 17 from 11:00am-6:00 pm. We are looking for volunteers to prepare food, cook, serve and deliver dinners to area businesses. A sign up sheet is in the Commons, please sign up for 2 hr increments. This will help to set schedules. In May we will have food for those that attend the 5:00 Saturday service. Stop by prior to the service and place your orders. All proceeds will be used to benefit church projects and programs. Your help is appreciated!


VBS 2008
Ready for Summer? Mark your calendars for VBS, June 23-27. This isn’t just for kids. We need an adult army of all ages in order to impact our children. More info to come.


Green Park - Teacher's Fund
Green Park has created a special fund to which parents and other friends of Green Park can contribute to restore teachers' salaries to 2007-2008 levels. Donations to the fund will be accepted from now until August 31. Checks should be made payable to Green Park Lutheran School and the memo line on the check clearly marked "Teachers Fund". The Teachers' Fund is for the benefit of all current teachers who teach in the 2008-2009 school year. Please take advantage of this opportunity to support your teachers in this special way. Matching funds will be made available thru Thrivent Financial. More information can be found on the table in the Commons.


Special Mother's Day Opportunity
A Special Mother’s Day Caring Opportunity Prayerfully consider helping a new mom this Mother’s Day. Ushers will receive financial donations following each church service this weekend to allow the Nurses for Newborns Foundation to train and equip teen moms and those who are mentally or physically challenged, and to deliver critical medical care to medically distressed, at-risk infants. Honor your mother in a very special way this year by supporting Nurses for Newborns -- Saving Babies, Strengthening families. Enjoy a blessed Mother’s Day.


Encouragement to be In Mission
All CM members are encouraged to be involved in Christ Memorial’s mission outreach this year! How? At-Home Prayer Supporter - If you aren’t able to go on a mission trip this year yourself, then please commit to praying for those who will go. Financial Supporter Again, if you aren’t able to go yourself, please consider making either a one-time donation, or pledging a particular amount to be paid over a period of a few months, to help with the costs involved with these teams that will go spread the Good News. On-Site Supporter - should God be calling you, then go on one of the mission trips still open: New Orleans, LA June 8-14, 2008, Saltillo, MX July 12-19, 2008, Nairobi, Kenya Nov. 6-16, 2008, Monrovia, Liberia Feb. 5-19, 2009


Kenya Mission Trip Planning
Initial plans are being made for the mission trip to Kenya this fall (Nov. 6-16). We will help with an eyeglass clinic, at which evangelists from the local Lutheran church will initiate faith conversations with each of the people who attend the clinic. Time is of the essence, so please call Kristi Roegner at 631-0304 ASAP if you are interested in joining the group.


Everyone Invited - 50 Days Ablaze! Celebration
The Celebration Event for 50 Days Ablaze! will be an International Potluck to be held on May 18th here at Christ Memorial beginning at 12:30 pm. Gather your small group together, bring tasty treats from around the world (that includes American food too), and join in the festivities! We’ll celebrate what the Holy Spirit has worked in us and through us during our seven-week spiritual journey – the Witness Rock moments, the learning we’ve done, and how He has helped expand our mission vision and outreach.

Women's Guild Salad Luncheon
Women’s Guild Salad Luncheon The date is almost here and a few tickets are still remaining! There will be a large variety of salads plus dessert and a bake sale of homemade goodies Christ Memorial bakers. And you might even win a wonderful door prize. The date is Wed., May 21st with doors opening at 11:00 am. Lunch served at 12:00 pm. Tickets are $10/person. Tickets can be purchased thru Laura Engelage at 821-1074. In case you haven’t bought a Mother’s Day gift , this could be the answer.


Diabetes Education
FREE 12 week diabetes education course. All participants will be offered testing and support for diabetes control. Course covers several topics including: monitoring you blood sugar, controlling complication of diabetes, taking care of your feet, living a healthy life through diet and exercise, and personal goal setting. First class begins May 13, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. in Room 206. Call Chris Wilson at 631-0304 for more information.


VBS Craft Supplies Needed
Craft Supplies Needed for VBS-We need 200 clean orange juice cans for a craft we will be doing in VBS the week of June 23rd. If you have some to donate, please drop them in the box under the VBS Display


Reliant News
Reliant News Reliant has adopted Lift for Life Academy, a charter school in Soulard. On Friday Reliant members volunteered their time decorating and chaperoning the school's eighth grade Prom. Random Acts of Kindness Car Wash
Are you feeling refreshed and renewed through you Ablaze small group study? Have you been praying about how you can serve God and reach out as a “Missionary”? Christ Memorial’s 10th annual Random Acts of Kindness FREE (no donations accepted) care wash takes place on Saturday, August 9. Praying and planning begins now


Pinochle
Pinochle Players-A reminder that our end of the year part is May 10 beginning at 6:00 pm. Since it is a potluck, please indicate to the Glaenzer’s what you are going to bring. Your final match scores should be in by May 4th. Also indicate whether you will return next year. Call Wally at 892-0580.


Women's Guild
Women’s Guild will take a road trip to the Mo. History Museum at Forest Park for a delicious lunch in the Meriweather Café and then you can tour the museum. Many of the gallery displays are free and some of the new ones have a small charge. To reserve your spot, contact Joan Dubberke at 416-0880 by 4/17. Let us know if you are willing to drive. Guests are welcome.


Pairs and Spares
Cardinal Baseball-Pairs and Spares has 15 tickets to the May 28th ballgame vs. Houston. The tickets are first come first serve as in the past. See brochures in the Commons before or between services.
