Random Acts of Kindness Car Wash
While 50 Days Ablaze! is complete, God continues to call us to be His witnesses to the community. It’s by HIS SPIRIT that we can tell others about Jesus. On Saturday, August 9th from 9am-2pm, our congregation will host the 10th annual Random Acts of Kindness FREE (no donations accepted!) car wash. Junior High Confirmation Camp and First Communion
July 7-9 - Confirmation Camp II for 8th graders: Just a reminder – Individual Appts-Mon & Tues, June 30-July 1. Camp II – Mon-Wed, July 7-9. First Communion Service – Wed, July 9 @ 7:00 PM-Dress is “church” casual-Please NO tennis shoes, blue jeans, or shorts! Please invite grandparents, godparents, aunts, uncles, friends, etc. Please turn in your Monthly worship/ Bible class forms.
The Music Man - Auditions
Auditions for The Music Man will be held on August 16 and 17 at Christ Memorial. Come anytime between 1-5 pm. Auditions are for ages 8 and up. Freedom from Hunger Food Appeal
Freedom from Hunger Food Drive-Summer is here and the cupboard (at Feed My People) is nearly empty. The week-end of July 4-6 has been designated as a time to conduct the food drive at Christ Memorial. Food barrels (marked Feed My People) will be located in the Commons area. Since last fall we have had a tremendous jump in the number of people needing help. Summer is a different time for families due to children being at home and the economic hitting many donors hard. After July 6 the barrels will be moved to the coat room ad the collection will continue until the end of the month. We pray for a successful food drive and thanking you for your generosity.
Small Groups Continue
Small Group Ministry extends beyond 50 Days Ablaze! New groups are forming for the summer, in addition to others continuing. If interested in joining a small group either call Kristi Roegner at 631-0304 or sign up via Christ Memorial’s website at www.christmemorialstl.org.
Tee Shirts for Mexico
Tee Shirts for Mexico please bring gently used tee shirts for our Mexican friends-sizes children – teen. All colors, logos and team shirts are great!
They do not have to be “plain”. Questions, contact Alayne Smith at 843-6002. Place in the boxes marked “Tee Shirts for Mexico” in both coatrooms. Please bring by July 6.
Green Park - Teacher's Fund
Green Park has created a special fund to which parents and other friends of Green Park can contribute to restore teachers' salaries to 2007-2008 levels. Donations to the fund will be accepted from now until August 31. Checks should be made payable to Green Park Lutheran School and the memo line on the check clearly marked "Teachers Fund". The Teachers' Fund is for the benefit of all current teachers who teach in the 2008-2009 school year. Please take advantage of this opportunity to support your teachers in this special way. Matching funds will be made available thru Thrivent Financial. More information can be found on the table in the Commons.

Circuit Training Class
A new Circuit Training Class is starting soon. The class meets on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7-7:30 am and runs for six weeks. The cost is $60. Please contact Vickie Ebert at 842-1859 for further information.
Shepherds
SHEPHERDS: The Shepherds sponsorship of the next New Member Orientation dinner is quickly approaching and will take place at 5:30 on Wednesday, July 9th. We need help with set-up at 4:00; attending the dinner and sitting with the new members at 5:30; and clean-up after 7:00. Please call Carolyn or Pat at 722-2065 to let us know how you can help? Fast Forward
Fast ForWord into Summer! Fast ForWord Language, an innovative computer software program, will be offered this SUMMER by Lutheran Association for Special Education in partnership with Christ Community Lutheran School (CCLS). Dates of the program are June 2 to July 11. Generous scholarship funds are available this summer. The program will be offered at CCLS at the Webster Groves Campus. Junior High Local Mission Trip
Jr. High Local Mission Trip: This event offers various opportunities for mission and service right in our own city for students who have just completed 7th or 8th grade. It begins at 8:00PM on July 9th for an overnight stay at the church. Then on Thursday (10th) spend a day in various mission and service opportunities. This has been a popular event the last couple years. Cost is $10. Registration is required. Parent help (driving, food prep) is also necessary for this event to happen.
